“Dhol” and “Damau” are traditional musical instruments from Uttarakhand, particularly associated with North Indian folk music and classical music.

1. Dhol : The Dhol is a large, two-headed drum with a cylindrical shape. It is made of wood with animal skin stretched over each end. The two sides of the drum produce different sounds – one is higher pitched, and the other is lower. The drum is played with sticks, and the player can create a wide range of rhythms and patterns by striking the two heads with varying intensity.
2. Damau: The Damau is also a type of drum, but it is smaller and simpler compared to the Dhol. It is commonly used in the mountainous regions of North India, especially in the states of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. The Damau is typically made from a hollowed-out wooden cylinder with animal skin stretched over one end. It is played by striking the skin with a stick.
